Sarah Palin is a woman I admire and like, and agree with most of the time. Her endorsements are for the most part, of candidates that I would vote for given the chance. (Allan West, Sean Duffy, Rick Perry, Doug Hoffman) Other endorsements surprised me at first, but after doing additional reading and thinking for myself, I realized that Palin endorses candidates that she believes has the best chance to defeat the Democrat socialist.
Sarah Palin undeniably loves this country, and I think she is willing to sacrifice popularity for pragmatic choices in a real, versus ideal, world. This, in and of itself, is a hallmark of a true leader. In an ideal world, the most pure conservative would win every race. But we don’t live in an ideal world, and so the choices we make are wasted if they’re based upon wishful thinking.
I don’t follow Sarah “blindly” nor do I worship at her feet. I do think that she’s a strong woman with a moral center from which she makes her decisions, with God’s guidance as she perceives it. I do think that she has a very clear understanding of the grave danger that America is in, and is making some hard choices to save us from socialism. Because if the Dems don’t lose control of at least one of the houses in 2010, the situation will become almost unrecoverable. If something doesn’t put the brakes on in just a few short months, and the Dems have two more years to move their agenda along, once they get 50.1% of the citizenry dependent on government in some way, or working for government in one of their infinite bureaucracies, then we are lost.
Conservatism will never win again at the polls.
I think Sarah is trying to get some breathing room for true conservatism by focusing on taking away the democratic socialist majorities in both houses for 2010. I think Sarah has a far-sighted plan, rather than being short-sighted, and I believe she knows that some of the candidates she’s endorsed are not ‘as conservative’ as her “fans” would like, but she believes that winning the seat is of utmost importance.
I support Sarah Palin. Not blindly. Not without any thought. But I believe something about Sarah Palin that some others don’t see, that she does know what she’s doing, and is doing it for the country we all love.

Well, that is an interesting take.
You have the right to feel the way that you feel and I respect that and you.
One small problem though is that Devore is polling very well one on one versus Boxer. He isn’t doing well in the primary, but she may have been the thing that gave him more visibility. Fioria has no record for which to judge. She may very well someone who votes left. We don’t know.
I don’t live in California either, so I have nothing to say about it. But I think she is becoming part of the party machine; not what she is seen as. That is the biggest problem.
Hi conservative girl,
I’ve seen conflicting polling numbers on that race, with Rasmussen showing a virtual tie between all three, against Boxer. Campbell a little bit ahead of the other two. But I’ve also seen polls showing Devore in the 13% range. You also commented on Fiorina having no record to judge; that’s true, but if that’s a negative, then every person running who has never been a politician before faces the same criticism. There are some really great-sounding people running all around the country who have never held political office before, and it seems counter-productive to level a criticism like that at all of them. One of the things that I’ve consistently heard from the Tea Party rallies and the people that I know around here, is a desire for fewer career politicians.
Anyway, as you said, we are both free to not only have our differing beliefs, but to express them as well, publicly without fear. I thank God for that. Thank you for your comment, and for coming by.
Well you may be correct but, in that case, why has she not expressed her philosophy of endorsement? More likely she has no coherent approach at all and just shoots from the hip and let the bullets land where they will. Time will tell which view is correct – and I’m rooting for your view, Pup, I just doubt it to be accurate.
