We’re Not Mad At The Banks Mr. President…

by Pup on January 22, 2010

…but you know that.

The White House spin on the not-even-close-win of Scott Brown in Massachusetts is that the “same anger that swept” Obama into the White House propelled Brown into the US Senate seat.  Therefore, it follows, as day follows night, that Obama desperately has to show us all how he’s on the side of the people too, like Scott Brown is.   And his action of choice is to come out ferociously and righteously against “the banks.”

The absurd spin that the “same anger” put Scott Brown in a senate seat that put O in the WH is stunning in its, well, its absurdness.  Yeah, that’s right.  People are still so mad at Bush and Cheney for the years of 2000-2008 that in 2010 the most liberal of all states elected a Republican to fill a seat held by Ted Kennedy for 80 or 90 years.  Which must mean that 52% of the voters in Massachusetts were perfectly happy with Obama’s policies over the past year, but were still so mad at Bush for things he did years ago, that they voted for Republican Scott Brown.  And, I guess that must mean that all those who voted for Coakley were mad at–well, who?  Who were they mad at?

Yes, I buy that.  Of course.  Makes perfect sense to anyone.  We can only hope that people stay mad at Bush through November, so that a whole slew of Republicans will be elected to federal, state, and local offices.

That Obama can even say this with a straight face should garner him an Oscar nomination at least.  “The Populist American President,” starring Barack Obama.   Maybe even another Nobel Peace prize. Of course, one could also say that it should garner him a psych evaluation.

His speech declaring war on banking was fiery.  Really.  He showed us much more anger than he did when speaking of the terrorist attack at Ft. Hood.  Much more.

Since this little temper tantrum new policy on banks is not based in any way on sound economic theory of ANYBODY, what could possibly be the motive for these new rules the banks will have to operate under?  What possible reason could any president have for enacting regulations that will ONLY obstruct banks’ efforts to make money?

Hampering banks in their business puts less money into our economy.  The president and his closest advisors hate wealth creation.  When wealth is created, it decreases the dependence of people on government.  You might not understand how a large bank like, say, Wells Fargo doing well helps you, but let’s explore that for a moment.

You may not bank at Wells Fargo, or even have a branch in your state.  But, if you have a 401K at your workplace, or if you have ever invested any money in a mutual fund, the chances are good that you own a tiny piece of Wells Fargo.  When Wells Fargo does well, as it and all the bank stocks have done lately, your investments increase in value.  When their stock loses value, as it did yesterday after Obama’s announcement, you lose money.

You lose money.

Why would your president do this to you?

(Think: Cloward-Piven)

Control.  Power.  Again, the poorer a country is, the fewer options available to everyone.  The less money the citizens have, the more they can be made to believe that government is the only answer.

I also think he’s mad at the American people and this is usually the best way to get back at someone–hit them in the wallet.  I think he’s behaving like a petulant child who didn’t get his way.  On one hand he’s making a ridiculous excuse for why Brown took Massachusetts by storm, and on the other hand he’s telling the rest of us, “I’ll show you, I’ll make your money go away.”

He’s inflicting revenge, a punishment, on us.  But, as he’s sticking needles into our backs, to our faces he’s putting on a big act of taking on the big bad bullies of banking for us little guys.  Big hero.  Big tonedeaf narcissistic hero.  He has to know that the polls all show that the majority of Americans do not want his version of healthcare control.  Seventy-seven per cent of US investors see Obama as anti-business.   He, Reid, and Pelosi all continue to blatantly and childlishly ignore any reports of disapproval on the part of the American people.

They ignore it at their peril.  Reid will not be re-elected.  Pelosi will lose the Speaker position that she treats so carelessly.  And Obama will not be re-elected.

He might simply appoint himself President-For-Life, but that’s another topic for another day.

He doesn’t hate wealth creation – remember just be he took office he made that multi million dollar book deal that would have been illegal once he took office? His bud Valerie is a slum lord that would have made millions if Chicago had gotten the Olympics.

He needs enough money to last, as his girls will never step foot into a public school. He likes wealth for himself and his buddies. That is perfectly fine.

He didn’t know what he was doing when he was elected; he didn’t know what he was doing when he was sworn in; he has not known what he was doing at any time in the interim; so why believe he understood there would be consequences to whatever drivel he unleashed after the election? The man may have a high IQ but even if you accept the proposition that his real goal is to bring down the economy &/or the country, it seems apparent that he has no idea how to accomplish anything other than being elected, something that would not have been possible had the media been anything but products of the US educational establishment.

Great post Pup, I’m going to peruse it more thoughtfully when I have more time….
conservative girl…oh yeah, you got that right he loves wealth creation for himself and his buddies, but for no one else….just like when Stalin ordered all the food raised in the Ukraine be sent to Russia…and 10 million or so Ukranians starved to death….
More about Cloward Piven….the middle class must collapse was their strategy…that’s what the Marxists are after…then you are left with the ruling class (they have all the money) and the “peasants” who work to keep the ruling class awash in their money but have nothing for themselves. Oh, yeah, Marxism..it’s a beautiful world. NOT.

Kathy,

NO, you are most certainly not being censored. I don’t know what’s up with that “Scuba TV” and will try to correct it. I may have to stop using this plug-in; the first time I tried to use it several months ago, it acted funny. I’ll check into it right away. Thanks.

Great Post.
Cloward and Piven is the nefarious philosophy that Obama thinks the educated electorate of America knows nothing about.
David Plouffe, IMO is a desperate attempt to resurrect his popularity within the American community, prior to the 2010 elections.
Speech after speech on TV is indicative that health care is on the ropes, fiscal policies are failing and driving our economy to the ropes, and Obama still continues to demean our knowledge as to what is going on within our country, as far as his policies can fix George Bush’s policies that got us into this.
I was no promoter of Bush.
Obama owns this economy now, and if he is going to evoke Cloward and Piven, go ahead and try.

The American People are on to you Obama.

If you have children, what advice would you give them?
—Always aspire to be a CEO, or, you can be anything you want to be, or, just work for the government.
The capitalistic society will allow you to to be anything you want to be.
Many of the socialists in our government today are millionaires thanks to capitalism. And they are incensed with the power that they have over the serfs (us) that they can manipulate into voting them back into office.
No Longer !

We The People will speak against the hypocrites in 2010.

Thanks for fixing this, Pup. My second post showed the right link when I posted, but I see you must have had to go do something to it. The first post probably was ok too when I did and then Scuba hijacked it!

Thanks all of you for your comments. I’m so glad to know that I am not the only one who has learned much over the past year. Thanks to Obama and his little gang of horrors I’ve learned about Cloward and Piven, marxism, fascism, and so much more. Thanks AFVET for joining in, please come back by anytime.

Sneed, I agree with you on one level that he doesn’t know what he’s doing; he certainly doesn’t know how to operate and direct a free capitalist country. But I think that he does know what he WANTS to do and accomplish, and “fundamentally changing” a free republic into a socialist democracy is what he THINKS he knows how to do.

Hopefully, and so far it appears so, he doesn’t really know how to do even this. He and his gang have underestimated greatly the knowledge, intelligence, and love of liberty of the majority of the American people.

Chavez is several steps ahead of Obama…see here for what he has in store for his “dissenters”. It’s called the claw, some kind of torture instrument and he’s called out his national guard to use it. http://ow.ly/i/opa
I believe a dictator has to dis-arm the public before he can get to this place.
