‘War On FOX News’–Actual Battle Or Diversion Tactic?

by Pup on October 19, 2009

The White House has finally shown itself to be unafraid of a fight.  That’s right, they’ve taken the offensive against an enemy, just as many Americans had decided that we had a kind of wimpy namby-pamby figuratively leading our troops.

We need worry no longer, for Obama and his Chicago gang have come out swinging and slinging, and now we have the opportunity to see what they’re really made up of.  About half of us Americans already knew, but I believe this is a real opportunity for some of the other half to see the true character of the man they helped put in charge.

The White House has officially declared war on FOX News channel, the first shot fired last weekend by Anita Dunn, White House Communications Director, on CNN.  Stating in an on-camera interview, Ms. Dunn said, “What I think is fair to say about Fox — and certainly it’s the way we view it — is that it really is more a wing of the Republican Party.  They take their talking points, put them on the air; take their opposition research, put them on the air. And that’s fine. But let’s not pretend they’re a news network the way CNN is.”

Michael Clemente, senior vice-president of news, issued a written statement in return.  “An increasing number of viewers are relying on FOX News for both news and opinion. And the average news consumer can certainly distinguish between the A-section of the newspaper and the editorial page, which is what our programming represents. So, with all due respect to anyone who might still be confused about the difference between news reporting and vibrant opinion, my suggestion would be to talk about the stories and the facts, rather than attack the messenger…which over time, has never worked.”

I won’t go into all the chronology and updates, as it has continued through this past weekend.  Suffice to say, the White House seems to be putting some amount of energy and effort into this.

I think I know why.

It is a distraction.  They’ve tossed out several distractions over the past few weeks, i.e., songs and pledges in schools, attacks on Rush Limbaugh, calling anyone who disagrees and speaks out in opposition to the administration’s policies a “racist.”  But these are meant to be diversions, and while they captivate our interest and are indeed truly wrong, they are false fronts strategically created to blind us from the true battle.

The real battles are those they are resolved to conceal and blur.  Specifically, the health care reform bill coming up for a vote very soon, and more specifically, the looming meeting in Copenhagen this coming December, where world leaders will supposedly all sign the United Nations Climate Change Treaty.  This, people, is what they do not want us to know about.

I’ll be spending more time in the days ahead on this ‘Copenhagen Treaty’ as some call it.  It is critical and urgent that we know about this, and don’t allow ourselves to take the bait they’re throwing from the back of the boat, as they steer us into the rocks while we’re not paying attention.

For now, please go read my friend Kathy’s post of yesterday on this, at her blog Watching The Nation. She’s posted some great information that is critical for us to understand.

But, remember.  Do not fall for the mock-up issues they create.  I believe they are intended only as camouflage, smokescreens to lead us away from the true battle, and cause us to spend our time and energy on things that, while wrong, are not urgent.  Our American sovereignty, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and the personal freedom that we now have are in grave danger, and the clock is ticking.

This administration is so deceitful that I think we can take to the bank that anything they are doing in the open is suspect of being a diversion from a larger threat that they’re desperate to keep out of the conversation.

Do not take the bait.  Be the fisher, not the baited.  Keep your eye on the ball, and in these days, the ball is that which genuinely threatens our sovereignty and our Constitution.

Great post, Pup, and thanks for the link. I do believe this may also be a parting shot at the bow to Fox News (and they really mean it)…they intend to “nudge” everyone into obedience to the administration. It will be interesting to see just how far they intend to take it. I think we are well on the path to a Marxist state, if the signs this administration are posting are any indication at all., Constitution or no.

Like Kathy said…They are intending to ‘nudge’ everyone into obedience. Not going to happen. Not going to happen. I’ve not seen such unrest in my entire life as I see with this administration. It will only get worse and worse…but how much damage can they do? I fear way too much.

Have a terrific day. :)

Thanks both of you. I sometimes wonder if I’m losing my mind, it doesn’t seem real that we would be at this point in America. America! Taken over by communists and Marxists, socialists and anarchists. I hope that with the help of the few true patriots in Congress and all us true patriots across the land, we will somehow thwart their every move.

Congress is every bit as useful as Jimmy Hoffa. The only way out is for the states to vigorously assert nullification and insist on a literal reading of the Tenth Amendment. The “national” government can not be turned from within particularly since there may be all of one or so individuals actually interested in doing so. The states must become aggressive, withhold tax revenue, nullify laws and so forth. Anyone who thinks the dc gang will somehow return to the constitution and reform itself is delusional.

Sneed, that is right on. We do need to withhold funding for the feds…THAT will get their attention. The “judge” Napolitano on Fox says we need to repeal the amendment (forgot which one) that originally funded the feds. States would have to do that.

Pup, your not losing your mind. The administration has declared all out war on the freedom of speech and the rest of the Constitution. I think it’s going to get ugly before it gets better. We need to stand our ground and let congress know we’re through with their shenanigans.

All I can think of is this – How does Fox News help Michelle Obama’s kids?

Because this is a distraction, pure and simple. They are like magicians using sleight of hand. Look over here and watch this so you don’t see me over there doing that.

You aren’t losing your mind; I’m glad to find I’m not alone because I thought I was losing my mind. If misery loves company, know that you are not alone.

Well, Illinois just won a battle against the leftie Communists…the SEIU (BO’s fav union) just lost their battle to unionize every home health care worker (even if it was a family member caring for a disabled member) in the state. Praise God. The state gave SEIU the NAMES of these people because they get funding. Shenanigans like this makes you want to scream, but hallelujah, they managed to hold off the attacking screaming hordes for at least a little while. Never give up!

Kathy thanks for passing that on! So glad to hear. Another small battle won.

Thanks Kris for your comment; I agree, it is just as you say. Even if I hadn’t already held this administration in contempt, I would not, for they continue to show only devious trickery, not the honesty that a mentally and emotionally healthy adult would. They are like thuggish teenagers with no core values.

George, we will stand our ground; thanks for standing there with me.

Sneed, I agree with you. The states will have to stand up. That’s why I think for the immediate future the state elections are of utmost importance. That is where the line will be drawn.
