Voters Laugh At Congressman’s Claims About Obamacare

It’s always a good sign when people in a meeting laugh out loud at a speaker who is making ridiculous claims as if they are fact.  Missouri Democratic Congressman Russ Carahan  was imparting the party line on the healthcare bill  at a town hall meeting to constituents at St. Louis Community College this past Monday.  When he shared with them that Obama’s desired health care plan would actually, eventually create a budget surplus, the audience couldn’t contain themselves any longer.

And the best part?  You can see it here, and revel in it. Be sure to listen for blogger Kevin Jackson, when he asks, “If it’s so good, why doesn’t Congress have to be on it?”

I love this.  I find it very encouraging when the ‘common folk’ begin to laugh outright at their politicians for such ludicrous statements.  I hope this becomes the norm for Congressmen and Congresswomen and Senators all across the land.

They think we’re stupid.  They think all they have to do is say something, and it will be true.  This townhall meeting is a great example of people showing the politician that they aren’t being fooled.
