The New Boston Tea Party Goes Viral

by Pup on February 21, 2009

Wow!  Rick Santelli accomplished the equivalent of holding a match to a rag soaked in gasoline.  There are reports from all across the country of “tea parties” being planned and organized in multiple cities.  Michelle Malkin covers it all very well here.

We posted a lovely link to this post over here, where there’s some intense CTP-watching going on.

There’s a good rant about the passion behind the tea party there, too. Here’s a snippet:

“But over the past month, the country has watched as our leaders have argued about the basic elements of free markets versus central planning. We have listened as they argued over just how much debt was enough. We have been told that the government can achieve economic goals that individuals and businesses cannot.

Many of us disagree. Vehemently.”

Hi Joetauke,

Thanks for coming by, for commenting, and for the link. Appreciate that.

I took a look at your blog, and found it really interesting. I plan on spending more time there this weekend. You’ve put together an interesting group, and the posts are very well-written. Enjoyed it.

Thanks again!

Hey! I’ve written and recorded a song for the Tea Party. Do you have any pictures or video I can use for a youtube video to go along with the song?

Here’s a link to it: http://billkammerer.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/mad-as-hell.mp3

Hi Bill,

Thanks for coming by and leaving a comment. I don’t have any photos or videos for you to use, though I wish you luck in finding some. I listened to your song, it’s great! I’m sure you’ll find the right video/photos to go with it, I just don’t know how to do that. I get any videos I use here from Youtube.

Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

Hey Pup, thanks for the kind words, I’m glad you like the site. You’re quite the writer yourself.

After having served our great country, it is crazy what has happened over the past 9 months! Change?? I want my government to uphold the Constitution of the United States, to use that set of principles as a measuring stick against which all things are vetted. We use to expect good effort in all we did, be kind and considerate to neighbors and work ourselves with the help of family and friends from situations that got out of hand or bad luck. What we have now is a nation of beggars? Our political parties and the politicians, who have been in office so long that they feel entitled and that their opinions are right and we know nothing. At some point we all have to stand up for this Our Nation! Enough is enough! Our mantra should be, “THROW OUT ALL INCUMBENTS!” That’s on both parties.

Hi John,

First of all, thank you for your service to our country. I appreciate that more than I can say.

Secondly, I agree with you and am ready for a brand new crop of people in congress, and as for some of them that have been there for decades, I’d just as soon have people called to serve just like with jury duty. I’d rather take my chances with names out of the phone book, than continue with some of the life-long politicians who don’t know a thing about real problems of real people. The ONLY requirement for getting elected should be a belief in and understanding of the Constitution.

Thank you for coming by and for your comment.

I totally agree with “throwing all the congress-people out and replace them. I am a disabled vietnam vet that cannot get the bureaucrats in Nashville, Tn to compensate my injuries. They want to send it to some idiotic black hole. If you have seen the portrait of the Indian with the tear running down his cheek…well that is how I feel looking at my country going down to 3rd world status and who knows what language we will be speaking in the future. That Indian could have well been my forefather but I haven’t asked for any repariations. We are so far in debt we will never get out and this thing they call a president that is in the whitehouse now reminds me of how South Africa went broke when they ran out the white people some years back. I never meant that as racist comment either. It is a fact. Come to Johnson City, Tn and do a rally some time. If I am able I will be there with a banner or a microphone or anything you can give me to get the message out. Thanks for letting me vent…..
