The 912 Project

by Pup on March 16, 2009

I really hope all of you were able to watch Glenn Beck’s program on the Fox News channel Friday afternoon.  The show, shown live at its regular time of 5 pm EST, built on his theme of “We Surround Them,” and is Glenn’s way of showing all conservatives that “you are not alone.”

I thought it was very well-done, and was moved to tears several times.  He introduced to us a new website called “The 912 Project.”  Their mission statement explains their purpose:   “This website is a place for you and other like-minded Americans looking for direction in taking back the control of our country. It is also a place to find information that will assist you in navigating the rough waters we face in the days, weeks and months ahead.”

For what it’s worth, I tried to get onto the site during the program, and for the next several hours.  But the server was overloaded and I wasn’t able to get onto the site until the next morning.  Beck made the comment during the Friday live show that although they had gone with the biggest server they could find, he had been informed that it was overloaded.  Good news, in my opinion.

The name of the project is meant to reflect how we as Americans felt on September 12, 2001, when it was clear that our country had been attacked and thousands of our countrymen and women had been purposely and maliciously murdered by an avowed enemy.  “The 9-12 Project is designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001. The day after America was attacked we were not obsessed with Red States, Blue States or political parties. We were united as Americans, standing together to protect the greatest nation ever created.

I’ve visited the 912 Project website now several times over the weekend.  I encourage everybody to check it out, and please, if you missed Beck’s show, try to catch an archive of it, or a repeat by Fox.  Beck’s show today will most certainly discuss the Friday show, which drew people all over the country to gather in homes, cafes, and any place big enough to accomodate them that had a TV, where they watched the show together.  Live visits to the various viewing parties were shown throughout the show.  Chuck Norris had a large group gathered at his ranch in Texas.

Take a look and see for yourself what it’s all about.  There have been many groups formed on the internet since the November election for the purpose of drawing conservatives together and channeling our energies to getting our country back on track as the Founders intended.  The 912 Project is a great addition and I thank Glenn Beck and everyone else who has a hand in creating it.

Agree completely, George. Did you see the show a couple weeks back about survival planning?

Glenn cried so much on the show, it made me cry too!! I’m a softie in the presence of others’ tears…now, there’s the real HOPE!

I know what you mean. When he was doing his introduction, right at the beginning, and was SO choked up, I was too. I’m like you, it’s contagious or something. With some people and situations more than others of course, but, when it’s genuine I can’t keep from joining in.

That show really encouraged me.

Hello Conservative Pup,

A small group of 912-ers have created a Petition for Redress of Grievances modeled after Ben Franklin’s original to King George III.

It is worth a read and perhaps even a signature – http://www.912petitions.com
