That Tremor You Just Felt Was America Shifting To The Right

by Pup on August 26, 2010

It’s not in the bag.  It’s isn’t a done deal.  By no means, and make no mistake, we can’t become complacent and overconfident.  But I do like and agree with the following sentiment:

“Regardless of what inside-the-Beltway triangulators might try to tell you, Americans respect a principled conservative more than they do some squirelly chameleon… whether they agree with their views 100% or not.”

The Reaganite Republican has a great assessment of the implications of the latest round of primaries around the country, and the “positive churning of a newly-energized American Right” as we head into November.

From here in Alaska I can tell you that Joe Miller’s “win” is not in the bag and RINO Lisa still has a good shot at it. Miller closed very fast and picked up lots of votes in the last few days according to the polls and that followed his final advertising push. Problem with the remaining several thousand absentee ballots is they were mostly mailed before Joe picked up steam so this one is far from a certain win. One can hope but don’t count on it. Sneed, I didn’t know you lived in Alaska. Beautiful place, I’m going to visit someday. I read an interesting and worrisome piece at RedState the other day talking about the NRSC trying to help her, and something about her running on the Libertarian ticket if she loses this. And that possibly the NRSC might help her. Disgusting.

Pedaling, welcome! Thanks for coming by; I’m going to browse over at your blog later this afternoon, it looks good. Thank you for the kind words!

It has been reported that the NRSC was invited by Lisa to “assist,” or something to that effect, in the final count. The fact that they seemingly accepted her invitation should have every registered Republican screaming and threatening to terminate donations. (I’m not a Republican.) I mean how dare they get involved in a local choice of a Republican candidate! What gives them the right to “assist” one to the detriment of the other? Which really tells the world how corrupt and unprincipled the R party is and how utterly useless it is to expect any type of deliverance from that gaggle of scoundrels and crooks.

Think and hope gridlock until something arises from the ashes of the system. Of course it could be something worse.
