Scott Brown’s Going To Washington

by Conservative Pup on January 20, 2010

And now begins the civil war within the Democratic Party.

To paraphrase Glenn Beck from his program yesterday, speaking of the impact of a Brown win, he said, “if these people are truly politicians they will move to the center to govern; if they are Marxists they will eat their own and there will be a civil war within the Democratic Party.”

Scott Brown, Republican but more importantly a man who spoke his positions clearly and with precision, won resoundingly in Massachusetts last night.   By a 52-47 percent margin the Bay State voters chose strong national security, fiscal responsibility and conservatism, “integrity, independence, and a willingness to stand up to machine politics” over entitlement, elitism, and blind obedience to the Pelosi/Reid/Obama cabal.

This coming civil war within the Democratic Party will be ugly and pure pleasure to watch.  It began within minutes of Scott Brown’s win last night.

Jim Webb, Barney Frank, and others are already trying to sound more moderate.

We shall soon see who is more interested in keeping their job, and who is blindly following a failed ideology or an ideologue, or both.

The GOP better be taking notes and writing up a brand-new playbook.  Brown did not win because he tried to appeal to everybody.  He spoke his beliefs and 52% of voters in the bluest state of all agreed with him.  No waffling, no vague rambling answers to questions that afterward leave you thinking to yourself, “what did he say?”  This is how to win.  Michael Steele, were you watching?

This is how to win back the country.  Run people with strong convictions on limited government, fiscal responsibility, strong national defense, and an unequivocal America-is-the-greatest-country-in-the-world stance, and who aren’t afraid to express those stands loudly and we will win almost everywhere.

I also thank President Obama for this.  Today marks the end of his first year in office, and thousands and thousands of words have been and will be written about his “accomplishments” during his first year.  I know of only one.

He has, in one short year, awakened more Americans to the threat of creeping socialism, reminded more people that they love America and better start paying attention, and moved more people back to center right than any other president in history.  As I’ve said before, Obama truly is the “Civics Teacher of the Year.”

He also helps us every time he flies in and campaigns for someone.  I hope he does a lot of that this year.  I particularly hope he goes to Nevada and speaks on behalf of Harry Reid.

I am delighted and thrilled about Brown’s victory.  His victory is our victory, America’s victory, and today I breathe a sigh of relief knowing that my countrymen haven’t abandoned her. Scott Brown victory in Massachusetts

As for the GOP, you better get with it.  This is what we want.

I was about to give up hope on Americans resistance to Socialism, but thank God Scott Brown came through and showed me that Americans are waking up to the call from our Fore Fathers to come to America’s defense. There’s no time for celebration out loud, but this is definitely a shot in the arm for Patriots of this great nation. I pray we can hold on long enough to get more “Scott Browns” in office to save our country. Thank you Massachusetts! Texas is proud of you.

The gun salesman of the year has morphed into the republican recruiter of the year. What an epic “FAIL” this would be tyrant is. Whether the Rs are bright enough to do as Pup suggests and really become the Republican Party with actual beliefs they stand for and will fight for remains to be seen. All evidence is to the contrary to this point.

Wayne: you are entirely welcome. If not for Texas and a few other states standing firm earlier I don’t know where we’d be right now. I’m on “cloud nine” because, as a Massachusetts conservative I just had an opportunity to cast a vote that actually MEANT SOMETHING! I’m having so much fun listening to the idiots trying to explain away the election as “local.” It was absolutely, positively, undeniably a referendum on Washington, Democrats in power, the White House, and Government intervention and control over our lives. It had nothing to do with “local” politics or whether or not one or the other of the candidates “ran a bad campaign.” We, in Massachusetts aren’t as “liberal” as people think. We’ve just been outnumbered and discouraged for so long that our votes didn’t matter. It took Obama and his radical agenda, his radical associates, his czars, Pelosi and Reid’s arrogance, and a little luck to make others in this Commonwealth wake up to the real picture of what is happening to our country and our liberties.

Thanks Comedy+, glad you agree!

Sneed, thanks. You’re right, EPIC FAIL. It remains to be seen what the GOP will do; as a person who thinks of myself as having pretty good common sense, it’s hard to imagine how they WOULDN’T see this and change, but…we all know that common sense isn’t a requirement for “public service.” Though many of them aren’t all that interested in actually serving the public. I’ll continue to pray that more people like Brown, West in Florida, and others like them come forward to actually serve their country, and that the GOP party leadership will not snub them.

Wayne and Dave, thanks for coming by and leaving a comment! Great comments, both of you.
