Pup’s Picks 2/27/2010

by Pup on February 27, 2010

Been a lot going on, what with health care summits, winter Olympics, the economy, and MSM antics.  Hope you enjoy these gems as much as I did.

Not new, but never grows old.  Maxine Waters and her big “oops” moment, at Watching The Nation.

Uncommon Sense has a fascinating post about our currency and the gold behind it.  Or, is there any gold?  Don’t miss this, it’s great.

The Tree Of Mamre reliably has great posts, but it was this photo that captured my heart.  God bless our troops.

I’m not an accomplished prepper (one who prepares for survival during emergencies), in that I don’t have nearly as much emergency rations stored as I would like, but I’m a dedicated wannabe prepper, and recognize and believe in the necessity of it.  The Survival Mom continues to be a great source of information for me, and her post, “Is It Too Late To Prep?” is a must-read if you have just now begun to consider how to become more prepared for an emergency of any sort.

The approaching demise of MSM is illustrated most recently at ABC News, and The Reaganite Republican has the details.  I agree with him on Jake Tapper, the only real journalist they have.

Andrew at Roman Around shares his thoughts on the health care summit, or as he calls it, the “monument to arrogance.”  Great read.

I’ve enjoyed the Olympics, as always, and hope you have too.  As always, there are gracious winners and sore losers.  Kris, at Reflections By Kris, writes beautifully about two people, one a grateful and gracious winner, the other a small-minded jerk of a loser.  And, throws in some exquisite music to boot.

All kinds of things prevented me from writing my own thoughts on the health care summit, (I call it ‘Life’) but Kate sums up my thoughts perfectly.  Blatherings Blog shares her take here.

Just A Conservative Girl explains how Scott Brown is no traitor, and what we should and shouldn’t expect from him.  Well-said, and I found myself agreeing totally.

I loved reading this from The Frugal Cafe Blog Zone about the Blabbermouth-in-Chief’s irrelevant and rambling and boring tale of the piss-poor car insurance he had a long time ago.  Made me laugh, Vicki, and I thank you for that.

Freedom’s Wings has this great video of the DallasTeaParty inviting Keith Olberman to their one-year anniversary event, after he wonders where are the minorites?  Great job by the Dallas Tea Party group for putting this together.  Their one-year celebration takes place today, btw.  Wonder if “Olberdork” will show.

And on that, Pup out.  Have a great weekend everybody!

Ahhhhh…. Thanks a million for bestowing one of your appreciated “Pup’s Picks” mentions… warms my heart on a cold Saturday morning. Spot-on about Jake Tapper… he may be a liberal journalist, but not one of those “I need another glass of Obama Kool-aid” kind of liberal journalists. Tapper is a rare gem who probes for the truth, no matter which political party he’s investigating. Hope he earns more than Keith “I’m a Crazed Left-wing Nutjob Millionaire and You’re Not” Olbermann, who earns a disgustingly ridiculous $7.5 million a year at MSNBC.

I’ve not ever visited Reflections By Kris, but you’ve piqued my curiosity with your summary, so I intend to pop on over to give it a look-see.

Keep up the wonderful recaps, dear Pup… and thanks again for the shout-out. Glad I could make you laugh. If we didn’t look for the comedy gold during this nightmare of a progressive/socialist Age of Obama, we’d be crying in our gruel every day.

FYI – HillBuzz has some outrageously funny stuff on Al Gore and the collapsing global warming empire this past week. Those boyz are wickedly brilliant.

Thanks for tagging me again, Pup…I’ve been pretty busy and haven’t been able to write much. But this a.m. I came across the little story O told about his insurance problems way back when. It is difficult to believe he told this in public, but it probably explains a lot about how he really doesn’t get the economy or anything else for that matter. For someone to purchase liability insurance and actually believe the insurance company is supposed to pay for damages from another vehicle is startling. This man is not paying attention…to anything. Let’s hope he DOESN”T do what Hitler did when he was losing the war…hole up in a bunker and….I feel for his family. Michelle was on Huckabee last week and came off as a very likeable person.
