Pup’s Picks 1/9/2010

by Pup on January 9, 2010

Well it’s time for another round of my personal favorites of the blogs I’ve visited this week.  Old favorites and new discoveries are all represented, and I hope you’ll browse each one of these good and faithful patriots’ work.  Happy weekend everybody!

Newly added to my blogroll, Common Cents echoes my thinking on what Tiger Woods needs.  Brit Hume states without hesitation what many of us are thinking.

John, at America, You Asked For It! has a very good synopsis of the Arkansas race for Blanche Lincoln’s seat, which she apparently intends to fight for.

If you’re not familiar with Geert Wilders, the uber-courageous Dutch parlimentarian who speaks out against Islamic radicalism and the continuing expansion globally of Islam, then here’s a good place to start. Watching The Nation has frequent reports on him and his speeches, and is a great reference.

No matter my mood or time constraints, I always check out The Reaganite Republican, and he has not let me down. Guaranteed to lift your spirits and give you that good belly-laugh that feels so good, these “hopenchangy” (I love that word) drawings are not to be missed.

For you book lovers, and I place myself in that category, Kris at her Reflections by Kris is working on a new feature for those of us who are passionate about what we read.  I love the looks of the Shelfari application, and am going to check into it for myself.

I loved this video that Tracey posted at Finding Myself In Alaska.  We can never thank our military enough or too often.

Obama’s “we are at war” speech gets a good going-over by FREEDOM EDEN.  No finger-pointing, too much blame to actually blame anybody…a sheeple trying to talk like a warrior.  Epic FAIL.

The Frugal Cafe Blog Zone has a great post about CBS weatherman David Price visiting our troops in Iraq.  That story is heart-warming, and the Cafe tops it off with some great suggestions for remembering our troops all year round, not just at Christmas.  A must-read.

Yet more nefarious plans from the Democrats, this time up in Massachusetts, where Scott Brown is closing the gap between himself and the Democrat he’s running against for Teddy Kennedy’s seat.  Just A Conservative Girl has the details.

Lady Libertas has more on the US Senate race in Massachusetts, which is as crucial to the other 49 states as it is to the Bay State commonwealth.  Great info.

I had not heard the news about comments that Harry Reid made about Obama back during the 2008 campaign but learned of them at the Left Coast Rebel.  This ought to be interesting for a while.

And that’s a wrap.  I meant to have this up by noon today; had too many unexpected interruptions, but that’s the way it goes sometimes.  Better late than never.

Be sure to check back next week for the next batch of Pup’s Picks.

Oops – sorry about the duplicate comment. Got a “404″ error and was too impatient to wait for the update to come thru.

Lady Libertas,

Thanks for coming by; I really enjoy your blog and the good work you do. Thanks too for adding me to your blogroll.

Kris, you may comment as many times as you want! And yes, I’ll add you as a friend on shelfari; I haven’t had a lot of time to play with it but I have a few books on my shelves.
