Pup’s Picks 1/23/2010

by Conservative Pup on January 23, 2010

It’s been a great week for America.  The triumph of Lt. Colonel Scott Brown in his quest for the US Senate, a man with conservative values and principles, in the bluest of the blue states is very encouraging.  The Supreme Court gave a monumental opinion protecting free speech.  The Demcare health care control bill is on very shaky ground.

Yes, a good week for America.  Pup’s Picks runs the gamut of topics and you won’t want to skip any of them.

I like this post by Adrienne at Motivation: Truth about Sarah Palin’s recent announcement that she would campaign for John McCain in his bid for re-election to the senate.  Many conservatives and supporters of Gov. Palin are critical of this decision, but I’m not.  I’m with Adrienne on this one.

Kathy at Watching The Nation has a great post on the trial of Geert Wilders, the Dutch parlimentarian on trial for “hate speech” for speaking the truth about Islamic facism.

APackOf2 has a helpful and interesting guide to becoming active in politics at your local level.  Though she focuses on Michigan at The World According To Me, the suggestions are applicable to all of us.

Carol at Carol’s Closet gives a peek inside the political climate down in Florida, and it sounds like more potential good news for America.

A most excellent post by Vicki at The Frugal Cafe Blog Zone about the Supreme’s decision supporting free speech and knocking down McCain-Feingold.

The Left Coast Rebel is hot on the trail of “Ellie Light” who has been writing letters to the editors of many newspapers throughout the country, supportive of Obama.  The strange part is, she always claims to live in that area.

One of the blogs on my blogroll is The Survival Mom.  She has a great place for tips and suggestions and just plain good advice on all things related to survival, whether it be for an unexpected stuck-on-the-road experience or more serious and lengthy emergencies.  Here she details a 72-hour kit to keep in your vehicle, especially in winter.  Highly recommended.

Just A Conservative Girl talks about Obama and something he’ll never get: the American people.  Good post.

Gonna wrap this up with a short-but-sweet message to Obama from The Reaganite Republican.  Gave me a laugh, thanks James!

Great collection of patriotic bloggers here! All are excellent and represent true conservative voices that the MSM blocks out for the progressive movement. Keep up the good fight! Great work!

Thanks for linky love Pup.

I don’t agree on the Palin thing, but that is what makes life interesting.

Hey there Government Mess, (great name!)

Thanks for coming by and leaving a comment. Appreciate the good words.

Just a conservative girl,

You’re welcome. I liked your post, wanted to share it. As for Palin, you’re right, I can’t imagine what life would be if we all agreed on everything all the time. I may post on this in the next few days, and if I do, please come by and share your thoughts. I know that many are surprised and disappointed.

Thanks both of you for the comments!

Sarah’s honoring a commitment she made to McCain, as she said on Glenn Becks radio show.
I think she is weighing commitment against the possibility of the worst of two evils.
The old saying is politics makes strange bedfellows.

I am on the side of , no Sarah, don’t align yourself with a “finger in the wind” moderate pseudo RINO.
McCain is using her to get re-elected.
Retire John !
For God’s sake free Sarah from any contamination your policies may stay with her for the rest of her career, and life.

Hey Conservative Girl,

Great post. You are right, America did have a good week and it seems it may get better. I think Palin supporting McCain is a mistake, but I’ll give it some time and think about it. I would like for you to give my blog an eye. I think you will find a couple of posting interesting. Yes, I am a newbie, but learning.
