Pup’s Picks 12/19/2009

by Conservative Pup on December 19, 2009

This has quickly become one of my favorite things to do each week.  I love finding and sharing good work by some of the many great patriot bloggers out there.  So, without further ado, here are the Pup’s Picks for the weekend.

I love this piece by Adrienne at Motivation: Truth.  Apparently, if one actually takes the time to read Sarah Palin’s book, Going Rogue, one’s opinion of the governor can be changed, at least somewhat.  Good write-up by Adrienne; I loved the analogies to Scout Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird.

Andrew at Roman Around has a good update on what it will take for the health care bill to pass the Senate before their self-imposed Christmas deadline.  It could happen, and what a lump of coal that will be.

At Reflections by Kris, dear Kris has collected a few Christmas music videos that are reflective of her exquisite taste.  These are truly breathtakingly beautiful.

The University of Minnesota has decided to make a desire for social justice and “ideological purity” requirements for teachers-in-training.  Read this scary and excellent piece here at Uncommon Sense, an aptly named new favorite of mine.

Kathy at Watching the Nation shares with us Dick Morris’ piece on the similarities of the Democrats’ suicidal rush to pass “the most unpopular piece of legislation I can ever remember” and The Charge of the Light Brigade, made famous by Tennyson.

James, at The Reaganite Republican, gave me several much-needed laughs with his collection of wise and pithy comments from some of our leading philosophers and specialists in every area, our national celebrities who play-act for a living.  Gosh, these guys are smart.

Lord Christopher Monckton, one of the world’s leading skeptics of “man-made global warming” and who has spoken at major conferences all over the world, was assaulted by Danish police Thursday in Copenhagen.  American Daughter has the story which includes an account of the incident written by Lord Monckton himself.  Very scary stuff, and very necessary to know about.

I couldn’t decide which post at Double Nickel Farm to include here, as there were two recent ones that I really like.  Actually, I like most everything the Humble Wife writes, but here is her admonition to our government to “Just Say No”, and, her thoughts on Christmas and the reason for the season.

Conservative Teacher over at Conservative Revival has this updated rendition of “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow.”  “It’s A Hoax, It’s A Hoax, It’s A Hoax,” is sure to become a classic.

You simply must watch and listen to Camouflage and Christmas Lights at Finding Myself In Alaska.  Tracey has given us all a reminder of those whom we must not forget, in our hustling and bustling preparations for holiday celebrations.  Take a moment to do something for our troops, so far away from home on Christmas.  At the very least, offer a prayer for their safety.

The Hillbuzz boys are asking all of us who can to go to our political representatives’ and senators’ offices this coming week and “scream at them.” I think it’s a good idea and want to pass it on.

Liz Blaine gives us the skinny on those White House Christmas Holiday parties.  DISGUSTING.

I missed seeing this, but thank goodness, the Left Coast Rebel didn’t.

And finally, last but in no means least, good friend Sandee at Comedy Plus, whose visits to this blog I so appreciate, shares with us the Christmas Can-Can, by some terrifically talented and great-looking guys.

That’s a wrap, folks.  Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and enjoy your holiday time!
