I Couldn’t Have Said It Better Myself……

by Pup on December 11, 2008

“You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot help little men by tearing down big men.

You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.

You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.

You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.

You cannot build character and courage by destroying men’s initiative and independence.

And you cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they can and should do for themselves.”————-William Boetcker (1873-1962)

As I said above, I can’t say it any better.  I continue to believe that lack of personal responsibility and a sense of accountability is one of the biggest problems in our country today.

If you agree, feel free to pass on the above quote.  And if you don’t agree, then study the quote above until it makes sense to you.

Pup out.

Great quote, pup. This is totally true. How amazing that communist and socialist governments never see this…I guess it’s because they are too busy taking care of Themselves to ever notice. I am wondering about ours now….

I don’t think they “see” this, because it’s not in THEIR best interest to see it. They know this is true, as much as the rest of us know it, but they must suppress it, and tell the “people” otherwise. As in, “here, let me do that for you”, “here, let me give you this monthly check, you poor thing.”

What I don’t understand is why the people being “helped” don’t see this as the subtle insult that it is. “We know you can’t achieve anything on your own, so we’re going to support you.”

Just boggles my mind. I’m so thankful for how I was raised, to reject this kind of thinking.

Government handouts to abled bodied people is a form of repression. Someone who gets something for nothing is not likely to get an education, not likely to vote, not likely to have an individual thought. That is just what the present government wants for this country. A bunch of helpless people with no opinion other than to focus on when their next check will be in the mailbox. It all adds up. The less educated and helpless the communities are the more they can be manipulated with a monthly government check. Too bad the present government doesn’t see fit to impower people. This government will breed complacency and lack of personal responsibility which creates extra baggage for those who want more knowledge and understanding of our Constitution, Amendments and Bill of Rights. We must keep our eyes open and our backs covered during this administration. God only knows what will transpire in the next 4 years. This administration will create dependence among it’s citizens and the “Golden Rule” will prevail. “He who has the Gold makees the rules”
