I’m glad Janet has cleared this up for us. I feel much better now.
Say, I have a bridge for sale, if anyone is interested. Just let me know.
Statement by U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on the Threat of Right-Wing Extremism
Release Date: April 15, 2009
For Immediate Release
Office of the Press Secretary
Contact: 202-282-8010
The primary mission of this department is to prevent terrorist attacks on our nation. The document on right-wing extremism sent last week by this department’s Office of Intelligence and Analysis is one in an ongoing series of assessments to provide situational awareness to state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies on the phenomenon and trends of violent radicalization in the United States. I was briefed on the general topic, which is one that struck a nerve as someone personally involved in the Timothy McVeigh prosecution.
Let me be very clear: we monitor the risks of violent extremism taking root here in the United States. We don’t have the luxury of focusing our efforts on one group; we must protect the country from terrorism whether foreign or homegrown, and regardless of the ideology that motivates its violence.
We are on the lookout for criminal and terrorist activity but we do not – nor will we ever – monitor ideology or political beliefs. We take seriously our responsibility to protect the civil rights and liberties of the American people, including subjecting our activities to rigorous oversight from numerous internal and external sources.
I am aware of the letter from American Legion National Commander Rehbein, and my staff has already contacted him to set up a meeting next week once I return from travel. I will tell him face-to-face that we honor veterans at DHS and employ thousands across the department, up to and including the Deputy Secretary.
As the department responsible for protecting the homeland, DHS will continue to work with its state and local partners to prevent and protect against the potential threat to the United States associated with any rise in violent extremist activity.

This is so much propaganda…and chilling.
Not only is the Department of Homeland Security scared of the law abiding American public, so is the White House and all of the National Democratic leadership, read socialist idiots. They want to disarm all of the law abiding citizens and let the criminals run loose. This government is becoming very scary and I am afraid for our great country.
George M
Kathy,
Yes it is propaganda, and I can no longer even force myself to believe anything that comes out of any of their mouths. It is mind-boggling to me that we are following in the footsteps of Germany in the ’30’s. The difference, I think, will be that the American people, for the most part, just have that liberty gene in our DNA, and I think we won’t be as easily persuaded as others in history have been.
Chilling, and sobering. I still believe they will overreach; right now there are millions of us who see what is happening, and my hope and prayer is that some millions more will come to see it over the coming months.
George, thanks for coming by, I always appreciate your comments. The disarming attempts will begin soon, I am sure. I only hope that they don’t try to pull off some planned, set-up tragedy, in order to “blame” it on the “gun-loving right” (their words, not mine) to speed up the confiscation. That is one of my biggest fears, to tell you the truth. With the mainstream media, how would the truth ever come to light? I’ve read books and seen movies with that exact premise, and it is not a stretch for me to believe the radical left capable of that.
Hey Pup, I think we can take some comfort in the fact that the ratings for the “lamestream” media outlets is so low compared to Fox fair and balanced. That means no one is watching. O’Reilly has been #1 for 100 months and all of the evening lineup at Fox is beating everyone else hands down. Of course…there are still a few kool-aid drinkers listening to the other ones…sigh. Still, to me, it’s a good sign that most Americans don’t like the biased media.
…and I too am wondering what the next “crisis” (more than likely a manufactured one) will be…
I’d like to include a link to your site on my blog at http://www.backupamerica.org.
Napolitano was Arizona’s governor for six years, and protected the “rights” of the illegals to jobs and free cross border crossings, while subjecting her fellow Arizonans to increasing crime due to the drug trafficking, auto, property and identity thefts which exploded under her governorship. She is a globalist, and spent more time in Mexico and Canada than she did in Arizona her entire term of office.
This woman is actually the terrorist. And the border wars would never be happening right now if she and the Arizona legislature had sue the feds for the money for the border fencing under Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution years ago…..especially after 9/11.
Keep up the good work exposing Ms. Napolitano for what she really is.
And fighting for those civil rights.
Also, check out this link. This is why Napolitano is on the prowl for American conservatives. It is a bill that has passed the House (in 2007) and is now in the Senate – but wasn’t isn’t being disclosed is that although it hasn’t formally passed the Senate (to my knowledge), sums were included in the stimulus for the monies which are needed in order to create this subsdivision and the Fusion Centers which are distributing these memos. This way, the Senate can do what it is doing now – claim outrage over these actions – while they have been more than aware of the existence of these Fusion Centers and this bill passed by the House all along.
It’s all a political game. And actually what this bill does is make the U.S. government, rather than representatives of the people, a “hate group” all it’s own.
Here’s the language on the Senate bill:

That is also why I suspect people like Michelle Malkin – who is no more than a mouthpiece for the neocons really. She, as a conservative blogger and also watches Congressional activities, has also been silent on the existence of this bill – while publishing reports on select members of the Senate now “outrage.” Staged outrage really merely for their political careers.
