Like many others, I watched some of the CPAC coverage throughout the event. I liked Liz Cheney’s speech very much, missed Marco Rubio’s speech though I’ve read it was great, and wanted to hear Allan West, but missed it. I saw the wrap-up, and watched and listened to Glenn Beck’s speech, and liked it, but as I sometimes do when listening to Beck, found myself thinking “well, I don’t think that,” a couple of times during it.
When I find myself not agreeing with someone of Beck’s popularity and love of country, I usually question myself first. I do know that it isn’t necessary for me to agree with someone 100% of the time. Browsing around this morning I found a couple of others who also take exception to parts of Glenn Beck’s speech.
Mark Levin, whom I adore, offers his viewpoint on CPAC in general, and Beck’s speech in particular. His article led me to Bill Bennett, another man I respect and have learned much from, also offering his particular take on Saturday’s finale.
I offer these in the spirit of information exchange, and not so much that of advocacy. I like Beck. I’ve learned a lot from him. But I find myself also agreeing with Levin and Bennett, and therefore wanted to share their articles here.

I really like both Beck and Levin. I have certain issues with both of them.
One thing that I have found is that Levin seems to hate Beck. He calls him the five oclocker. At times Levin is very disrespectful to people, including his callers. He is brilliant, but sometimes he supports party before anything else, not much different with the RNC supporting Crist over Rubio. Supporting Rubio is the right thing to do as far as conservatives go, but the RNC decided to throw it’s hat with Crist, the “establishment” candidate. That is what Beck is talking about, and I agree with Beck. The RNC needs to sometimes go out on a limb and do the right thing. Principle should be part of it; and it doesn’t always happen that way.
Not to change the subject by much but the speech not to have missed is the one by George Will. It can be accessed at:

If you try downloading it use the flv files not the mp4, which do not play properly. If you don’t have one you can get a free flv (flash) player at CNET.
