This is chilling and creepy. On January 19, 2009 a video was posted on YouTube that had been made by Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. Called “I Pledge” it shows various and sundry celebrities making their pledge to do and not do a variety of stuff. Most of it is pretty innocuous–who would disagree with smiling more, and speaking to your neighbor– but toward the end they begin pledging “to be a servant to the president,” and “to be of service to Barack Obama.”
This has gotten some attention lately because an elementary school showed this video to its students during an assembly on August 28. As you might expect, many parents were furious when they found out what their children had been subjected to without their prior knowledge or permission.
This may be a small dot in the big scheme of things, but it’s too alarming to ignore.
As for me, I hereby pledge that I will never pledge allegiance to any public servant. I pledge my loyalty to my God, my beliefs, my values, and the Constitution of the United States.
I pledge.

It is creepy indeed. I’m stealing your pledge and putting it on my blog. Thanks.
Have a terrific day.
I agree it is creepy indeed. And this was probably put on by the NEA, who have agreed to put out propaganda for the White House.
Steal away, CP, you’re welcome to it.
Hey there “E”, I hadn’t thought about the NEA but I wouldn’t doubt it at all. So many supposed-to-be-innocent and non-partisan groups are not, and are propagandizing like crazy. We’re up a sizable foe, but we are smarter, I believe.
Thanks guys for coming by!
I copied your pledge and put it as my facebook status.
Beyond creepy. It’s indoctrination similar to Obama’s speech to school children. It’s sinister and worthy of broad attention. Which, because it stars celebrities, it won’t.
Hi Cheryl,
I’m glad you like my pledge enough to put it on your Facebook page. What is your Facebook link?
Appreciate it. Glad for another patriot to stop by.
Kris,
They just keep poking the snake. Just keep pushing, trying to move that line in the sand just a little bit further back.
Yes it is worthy of broad attention, and from what I’ve seen on twitter, it’s gotten some, but of course, it will never be covered by MSM. I both pity and am angry with the folks in this country who get their information ONLY from MSM; they are so mis- and uninformed.
Thanks, Kris.
I’m amazed by the number of young voters who just don’t understand my objections to this public “servant” announcement. Perhaps it is because they never pledged to anything, as students watch Channel One TV in class, but do not say the Pledge of Allegiance anymore. Keep explaining, parents and teachers, that the President swore to serve US, and we swear to serve our Republic.
Very nice website!
