In the language of music, the key of C is one of the most commonly used key signatures, and is considered by many to be the simplest key. Several composers thought of C as the “happy” key; Joseph Haydn wrote 19 of his symphonies in the key of C, and most of them are described as “festive” and “in a celebratory mood.” Most slot machines tones are in C major to avoid having a dark or sinister sound.
Hence, the title of this post. This is a post I’ve been thinking about for a while, and have put together some random bits and pieces of news and info that encouraged me when I heard them. I hope they give you a lift too.
A few weeks back, I joined Netflix, the online movie rental club. One of the first movies I chose for my list was “Fireproof“, the Christian-themed movie starring Kirk Cameron. I picked out about 12 movies, most of them new releases. “Fireproof” was the only movie on my list that wasn’t immediately available; there was a waiting period for it as the demand was so high. I liked that.
A week or so ago, Glenn Beck did a live show buiding on his theme of “We Surround Them,” his way of encouraging conservatives and showing us that we are “not alone.” During that program he introduced us to a new website called “The 912 Project,” and I, along with millions of others, tried to get on that site and were unable to because of overload. Later in the show Beck was informed on air that the server had crashed, and told us that they had gone with the biggest server they could, and still it was overloaded. It was the next evening, a full 24 hours later, before I was able to visit the site. I liked that.
I’ve been looking forward to reading Mark Levin‘s new book, “Liberty and Tyranny,” and have had it pre-ordered for a couple of months. It has been shipped, and I hope to have it soon. Browsing Amazon tonight, I see that this book is the number one bestselling book on Amazon right now. I like that very much.
On his radio program this afternoon, Levin told of his experience this past Saturday at the first book-signing for this book. The signing took place at an independent bookseller on Long Island, NY. They had 1200 books ready and waiting; Mark said that he had never signed more than 900 at a signing for any of his previous books. On that day, in that bookstore on Long Island, six thousand people showed up and waited in line, outside, in the cold. Levin was there for six hours. They ran out of books, but he tried to meet as many of the people as he could. I liked hearing this very much.
There are good signs all around us that people who hold conservative values, or as I like to think of them, traditional American values and beliefs, are not the minority. We do, as Glenn Beck says, “surround them.” It’s so easy to feel discouraged about the path that the radical left have steered the country onto. But remember this: convincing you that you are in the minority is a strategic tactic consciously and purposely used by the left to sap energy and resolve from those who would oppose them and stand in their way.
You are not alone in the beliefs you hold. Believing in upholding the Constitution, adhering to our Bill of Rights, and in the liberty of each individual person to achieve and produce and live without extreme governmental interference does not put you in the minority.
This is a serious fight. Our country is at a dangerous crossroads. But fight the fight with the knowledge that there are more people like you than you realize, and that you are not fighting alone.
We are not alone. The above examples I described may seem trivial, but they heartened me, as I hope they will you.

Wonderful post, Pup! I wholeheartedly concur.
Thanks Kathy! Glad you agree!
While I’m sure we’d disagree on some moral issues (I’m quite socially liberal), I couldn’t agree more when it comes to a serious undercurrent of desire for back-to-basics conservatism in this country. A lot of people are becoming very, very wary of just how big the government is getting and just how much power, economic and otherwise, it is assuming.
Hi Joe,
I’m sure I could disagree with almost anyone on something!
Whether we agree on every moral issue or not, I am so glad you share the concern of the increase in federal size, power, and reach into our lives. That is the main thing and the one that is without a doubt unconstitutional.
Thanks for coming by and for your comment.
