Thanks all of you for the comments. Like y'all, I'm thinking that 2010 will bring a housecleaning; I think if we could vote next week we would have one for sure. OTOH, Kathy, I share your concern for the potential for "no more honest elections" due to ACORN and other nefarious individuals. I put nothing past the libs/leftists in their need to stay in power. Nothing.

Looking forward to your post about this Kathy.

...And in addition to the plans mentioned above, I believe they also have a plan for retaining power, which is what we need to be paying attention to. Consider the senate race in Minnesota...the night of the election the conservative Republican won and by the time the recounts are over, ballots found in the trunk of a car, etc, etc, the election has gone to a comedian from Sat. Night Live. Did Minnesotoans really elect Al Franken? Or was it those who counted the ballots who decided? Josef Stalin said it is not those who vote who determine elections..it is those who count the votes. Did this happen here? Consider ACORN and consider Dem tactics of electing libs for Sec. of State offices who will oversee future elections. I am going to be writing a post about this in the near future.

2010 is coming and it does seem that the country is going to be ready for a true clean-up of the fetid swamp that is the current Congress.

I live in CT - home to the most ethically-challenged Senator in the nation right now - Dem. Christopher Dodd. Even before he has announced a formal campaign , polling shows that the possible Republican challenger, Peter Schiff, is ahead of Dodd by quite a large margin. He's already raised almost $1 million dollars since April and he really hasn't said he's running, yet.

Schiff is young (46) and a ridiculously successful businessman who predicted the current economic collapse 3 years ago.

I'm willing to bet that Schiff won't be alone in seeking to rout an entrenched good-0le-politician with fresh blood and ideas.

2010...we're coming for you.

After seeing the reception that our legislators are getting, I believe that the American people are waking up to the fact that congress is totally out of control. They are now starting to tell the legislators that they were hired to do a job for the people and don't have a everlasting right to their position. People are starting to say enough is enough, and you can be replaced. It's called a vote for a reason. The people are telling Goerge Sorous, the DNC and the RNC that we are fed up and will be watching a lot closer than we have been. There is hope and it's coming on strong, America stand united and we will take congress back.

Well Sneed, you might be right about that. I'd rather think that right now I don't know who might decide to run somewhere in 2010. Or 2012. I'm saying that I will do what I can to get people elected to public office whose beliefs and values reflect a strong adherence to the Constitution. Whether it be city, county, state, or federal office, I'm going to try to pay close attention to both my own locale, and across the nation. As I hear or read about true conservatives attempting to win office, I'll do what I can to help them.

I'm sorry you don't have higher hopes, but then again, it's understandable. Someone has turned the word "hope" into a meaningless word. Maybe I have faith, not hope.

I really appreciate your comments, keep 'em coming.

All well and good to say "However, it is our duty, my duty, to defend against that, and I do, and will, as best I can with the written and spoken word. I will work to help elect conservative, libertarian, and even democratic candidates as long as they are staunch and stalwart defenders of our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and individual liberty." but you can count the number of those actually running for office on the fingers of one hand and have a few extra fingers. The number of same who pretend this is their agenda is higher but, after elected, they mostly turn out the same as all the others; their pretense vanishes and they appear as they actually are, i.e. more of the same. Bah.
